Helping Litigants Reach Common Ground
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in accounting in 1985, Brian Mooney graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1988. He was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year. For nearly 30 years, he represented parties in state and federal court litigation, as well as in various arbitration forums, including FINRA (formerly NASD and NYSE), Major League Baseball Arbitration and National Football League Disciplinary Arbitration. Over that same time period he sat on numerous arbitration panels, chairing the vast majority of them. His depth of experience in litigation and arbitration is substantial. This extensive background in litigation and arbitration, coupled with his analytical approach to settlement negotiations, vaulted his mediation practice to a nationwide presence in which he has traveled to 36 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
In 2017, he stopped representing parties in litigation and formed The Mooney Firm, PLLC, which is a practice dedicated solely to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). His ADR practice is based in Tampa, Florida, but he travels extensively. His availability for mediations and arbitrations can be found “HERE.”
Brian Mooney has worked as an arbitrator for over 30 years. He has arbitrated over 50 cases to final award.
